Discovery Park of America

Discovery Park of America / Union City, Tennessee

Rising from the cornfields of West Tennessee is the Discovery Park of America, 70,000 square feet of exhibits on subjects ranging from dinosaurs to hydrogen-powered cars. RLMG worked with Thinc Design to create an exciting array of media exhibits in seven distinct galleries.

Visitors experience the earthquakes that shook the region in 1812 as they stand on a motion platform surrounded by an RLMG-produced video recreation of the earthquakes. They use interactive viewers to search for “hot spots” on a large mural composited from NASA images of the universe. They decode a World War II secret message with an interactive cipher exhibit. They walk around all four sides of a giant inverted pyramid to view a holographic animation of the Cherokee legend of the first fire. They listen to extensive oral histories with the region’s residents which bring local stories and legends into the museum, and they are immersed in a three-panel multimedia program on Reconstruction.

Working with RLMG was a great experience. They listened to our needs and wants and … produced films which we are proud to share with the world. We gave them some very challenging assignments, and they did not blink; they shared our vision and made everything come true for us, and they did all of this on time and on budget.
