The Edward M. Kennedy Institute is a unique educational space that uses the Senate as a teaching model for cooperation, negotiation, and collaborative problem-solving. RLMG created media experiences that trigger civil discourse and inspire the next generation of engaged citizens and leaders.

Located on the University of Massachusetts campus, the 400,000 sq. ft. facility houses a fully functional, life-sized representation of the United States Senate Chamber. RLMG created large-scale, dynamic wall displays that present the U.S. Senate’s role in our government, its historic accomplishments, and current challenges. Visitors engage with these displays using hand-held tablets.

Working closely with an educational game development partner, we created video content to support a role-playing experience where high school students debate, negotiate, and vote on legislation in the Senate Chamber.

We continue to develop video content for the “Great Senate Debates,” an ongoing series that combines live actors with documentary videos to recreate significant moments in the Senate’s history. The videos establish context and carry the dramatic arc of the story, while Institute staff reenact historic speeches from the Senate floor.
