RLMG amplifies stories of survival and remembrance with new signage and a microsite that integrate seamlessly into the New England Holocaust Memorial in Downtown Boston.

Ever since its dedication in 1995, thousands of people have passed through the six glass towers of the New England Holocaust Memorial to remember and honor victims and survivors. In collaboration with Combined Jewish Philanthropies of Greater Boston, the Jewish Community Relations Council of Greater Boston, Facing History and Ourselves, and producer Naomi Greenfield, RLMG designed and produced a mobile tour and supporting signage to add context and depth to the visitor experience at the memorial.

Visitors begin at the southern entrance of the park and encounter the first of 11 signs placed throughout the memorial. Visitors scan a QR code to begin the mobile tour; an updatable, mobile-responsive site with text, images, audio, and video. Signage connects tour content to specific locations along the memorial. In addition, the tour relays the history of the Holocaust and includes interviews with survivors from New England. The visual language of the signage and microsite was inspired by the memorial – designed to augment while also maintaining a space for reflection and remembrance.
