Randall Lewis Second Story and Beyond

What will it be: A jolly broccoli fish? Mysterious starflower? Octopus with a top hat? Young imaginations bloom in real time as kids create their own virtual characters and send them—with a burst of confetti—to join a large, whimsical wall projection. Designed for pre-readers, RLMG employed minimal text and maximal ingenuity.

This interactive playscape took updates to a whole other level. The library asked RLMG to develop a modular solution that would allow staff not only to add new content, but to create an entirely new theme twice a year using new backgrounds, colors, textures, and animated elements. On one visit kids will populate a coral reef with their creations, while on another they’ll explore a friendly forest or journey to outer space.

We’re not sure why, but finding hidden objects is an almost universally satisfying experience. RLMG added a fun activity that challenges young visitors to look for specific items tucked into the digital playscape—a way to sharpen observation skills and deliver “aha!” moments.
