Water Challenge

A gesture-responsive map of California lets visitors select time periods, triggering projection-mapped videos that tell the story of how water shapes the state’s past, present, and future. Further into the gallery, visitors can explore California’s vital wetlands as a kayaking wildlife photographer or enter a waste treatment center to filter and purify water before it returns to the river.

Powering Change

Exhibits highlight the interconnectedness of water issues, blending compelling narratives with cutting-edge technology. Visitors explore a gesture-responsive, glowing relief map of California where they trigger projection-mapped videos that tell the story of how water shapes California’s past, present, and future. Visitors can also take an AR tour of California’s vital wetlands as a kayaking wildlife photographer, catch contaminants before returning water to a river in a large-scale gestural game, or join a multi-player game-show quiz about collaboration and changing your community.
