Water Shapes Florida

Below the Surface

Florida’s massive limestone aquifer harbors more than 1,000 freshwater springs and is one of its most amazing—and underappreciated—natural wonders. That’s where exhibit media shines. We created experiences that make the unseen visible, bring elusive wildlife up close, personalize water stewardship, and thrill visitors with a one-of-a-kind excursion into a crystal clear spring.

We design media to fulfill a specific purpose: starring role, supporting actor, cameo, or scene setter. We tapped the whole cast to immerse visitors in Florida’s freshwater wonders—an amazing glass-bottom boat theater, bubbly pledge interactive with witty, water-themed emojis, ambient audioscape in a limestone cave, and digital nature explorers that bring elusive animals up close.

Magical Mystery Tourboat

One of the exhibit’s most audacious concepts? An immersive theater in the form of a glass-bottom boat piloted by “Captain Bill.” Two extra-large monitors up front and eight more embedded in the floor create unparalleled views as the boat magically dives into a subterranean cave and then flies above the canopy. We obsessed over every detail, from storyboarding complex underwater and drone filming to aligning camera angles, testing narration, and integrating with lighting and scenography to create a breathtaking expedition.
